Friemann & Wolf expands its range of primary batteries with new, performance-optimised LiMnO2 D-cell, M20

Friemann & Wolf Batterietechnik GmbH, manufacturer of high-performance LiMnO2 primary batteries, has expanded its range of high-end primary batteries with a new D-cell that offers a significant improvement in capacity.

Compared to the existing model, the nominal capacity of the new M20 cell has been boosted by 15 per cent to 12.6 Ah. In typical high current applications (C5 / C20, RT) this enables a significant increase in specified capacity that now makes the new cell one of the most high-performance primary batteries available worldwide. This opens up opportunities for a range of new applications, including alarm, signalling and metering devices.

Furthermore, the storage temperature range of the cell has been raised from +80°C to +90°C and its already low self-discharge has been reduced by another 50 per cent. This means that even after long-term storage, users in civilian and military applications alike can still rely on maximum battery power for their increasingly power-hungry applications.

The UL-accredited M20 cell is available with a variety of tags and contacts and can also be delivered as part of application specific battery packs.
